Unit Summary

The capital city of the UAE shows all its pride when it comes to tourism. Abu Dhabi is a grand blend of magnificent culture and modern architecture. The exponential growth in tourism in the emirate offers lots of opportunities to all involved in the sector and especially tourist guides. The training and licensing program are designed to help you offer unique experiences for visitors and to promote Abu Dhabi as a world-class leisure and cultural destination.

The program provides an elaborate mix of specialized knowledge and practical skills presented over 9 modules: Module one, portfolio 1, is a four-week, self-study portfolio containing a lot of interesting information that you will need to learn, and importantly, remember, and use throughout the rest of your course.
The knowledge presented to you in module one has a number of features:
  • First-level information
    • This gives you important knowledge about the various topics, sites, attractions and activities.
  • Desk research activities
    • Designed for you to gather and accumulate your own facts and information on topics, sites, attractions and activities. You take charge of your learning to make it proactive and positive.
  • Knowledge Banks
    • A further set of information on each of the topics, sites, attractions, and activities
